Coconut Oil Massage

Full-body oil massage using warm coconut oil. No added fragrance.

In short

Coconut oil massage is a full-body oil massage using warm cold-pressed coconut oil with no added fragrance. It absorbs well and suits dry or fragrance-sensitive skin.

Warm cold-pressed coconut oil, worked over the whole body with the same long flowing strokes as an oil massage. Coconut oil absorbs more readily than a standard massage oil and leaves the skin noticeably softer, which is why it is the one asked for by name more often than any other in Thailand.

It carries no added fragrance, and that is the honest reason to choose it over aromatherapy: if a scented blend would not suit you — a sensitivity, a pregnancy, or simply a dislike — this is the oil massage to have.

The warming also helps circulation through the limbs, which is what most people notice in the hour afterwards.

Who is this massage suitable for?

Dry skin, or skin that has had a week of air conditioning and sun.
Anyone who wants an oil massage with no fragrance in it.
General tiredness, tight shoulders and heavy legs.

When should I avoid this treatment?

Tell us about a coconut or nut allergy before booking. This is the one treatment where that matters, and we will bring a plain unscented oil instead. Also mention open wounds, sunburn or a recent skin treatment.

What does the therapist bring?

A massage table, fresh linen, towels and warmed cold-pressed coconut oil.

How should I prepare?

Space around a table, and somewhere to shower afterwards. Coconut oil is richer than a standard massage oil and most people prefer to rinse.

Professional conduct

Professional draping is used at all times and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Nothing outside a professional massage is offered.
